  1. My husband owns a catering business in NY.  Your number one priority should be quality of food.

  2. taste, price & customer service

  3. There are many things in regard to cost and the food. But if you know what you want and understand all of this that can be negotiated. You have to know what you want.

You can ask for references and all that but that is iffy. Do they respond to your questions or offer alternatives quickly? Do they call to confirm several times?

The big rule of thumb. The person you meet with needs to feel like a person that you would invite to your own party.

Biggest concern is how it will work through the evening. You can hire a company and every person that shows up speaks zero English. That would be fine if one person does and has control. Even if all are English speaking it comes down to making sure that the owner of the company or a manager is there to deal with anything.

  4. Let's see... I haven't figure it out yet...

  5. I look at a number of items, including reviews of people who have used them, how long they've been in business, can they come up with a menu within my budget.  Also personality-wise are they easy to work with.  Definitely do a taste-testing so you can get an idea of how good the food is!
