What do you look for in a driver?

I really like drivers like Mark Martin, Dale Jr., Jeff Burton who are safety concious of others, honest and admit their mistakes. What do you look for in your driver?

  4. I like the underdogs i.e Paul Menard, John Andretti, Truex Jr

    If they have the talent and determination i choose them as my drivers too watch.

  5. I like drivers that have respect for other drivers on and off the track, love racing, able to admit their mistakes, that don't give up even when others don't believe in them, that hang in there even if their not winning!!

  7. Your answers are mine although I am not totally enamored with Jr but he is close.   I would add Harry Gant to my list.

  8. 1. Expect to win every race, upset if they don't

    2. Determination, and doesn't give up

    3. Upset with 2-43 position

    4. Pure love to race, and not all about the money

    5. Big personality, whether seen as good or bad to others

    6. Ability to make  the race exciting no matter what position their in.

    7. Not afraid to take chances, and give the fans what they came to see.

    8. Able to drive anything with wheels on it shows me how talented some people are and I like people that do that also, because they love to race

  11. someone who's driving style only shows when he's on the track, doing his thing. In psychological terms he would be described as a passive aggressive personality. In racing he would be just a darn good race car driver. That's the only way they can deal with the media and pacify people who make judgments. Like you guys.
