  1. just a driver that seems like a good driver he doesnt have  to have a whole bunch of wins he can have many top 5s and tens u have to just watch and which driver can have the ability to win

  2. personality, talent, and clean racing.

  3. talent and ability are key followed by personality

  4. if you are a real nascar fan

you'll feel inside who's your favorite

  5. personality and talent & ability

& if they happen to be super cute/hot...then that's just a plus :]

They need to have a good personality...they need to be nice & funny for sure!

but they need to be able to drive the car to victory once in a while too. i need a driver that will fight their hardest for a position, but know when to let it go too.

and i really don't care if my fave. driver is one of the most popular or one of the least. it doesn't affect my choice in drivers. i cheer for whoever has a great personality & can drive circles around others.

& they need a desire to win

[btw my absolute favorite out of every single driver is Jimmie Johnson....which he has everything i look for in a driver..but some of my other faves are: Carl Edwards, Kasey Kahne, Kyle Busch & Dale Jr.]

  6. man you forgot to add "his last name"

    Mine is personatliy and talent

  7. all of the above!!

    Go Dale Jr.!!!!

    JUNIOR NATION!!!!!

  8. No

As long as they aren't a classless piece of c**p then it's fine with me.

Uh... duh! Why don't you see anyone pulling for Mike Potter?

Hype (lack thereof) and a cool paint scheme

  9. All of the above

  10. Drivers that want to lead EVERY lap.

Drivers that are done wrong by owners & fans.

  11. I root for the drivers who would drive most like me if I were out there and knew what the heck I was doing!

  12. Because I am so uneducated about NASCAR, I use the ever-popular sponsership method. I'll go with the Bud driver. Which means I root for Jr., and Kasey Kahne. My 8 year old daughter went with the "candy man" (Kyle Busch) and it's won her over $40.  Works for her.

  13. In order:

    1. Talent - I have trouble liking someone that just rides around for points, and just moves over to let people by. I like to watch drivers that try to win every race, and have the talent to do it. The ones that make races exciting.

    2. Don't give up. Just because you might be in a little slump, don't give up, because if you have the confidence to know you can win every race, go out there and try to do it. That's what makes champions

    3. Personality - Personality is fairly important, but has nothing to do with how good a driver is. It just makes people feel a bond with them, I guess. I tend to like drivers that have a big personality, aren't boring to watch, and tell what's on their minds. That way if there is a boring race they can make it exciting, with what they have to say after the race is over. If a driver just sits there and states the obvious over and over it's not fun to watch. Not a big fan of Tony Stewart, but he is the type of guy that can make a POST-race exciting. The whole Joe Gibbs gang has a knack for it, seems like.

    4. Determination

  14. talent

personality (on and off the track)

    versatility

    attitude

    drive

    desire to win

    love of the sport

    determination

    "fire-in-the-belly"

(i know, many of those are near-synonymous, but they are not exactly the same...)

and as stated above, much of it is a much more subjective "gut feeling" and "identification" with the driver(s).

and it helps when your favorite drivers are brothers who are the hometown boys from the place you lived when you first really became a nascar fan... and that they lived in the same area and went to school at the same high school as an ex-girlfriend/good friend, and right down the road from where i went to high school years earlier...

  15. none of the above........ i choose the best driver that fits my personality........... don't care if they have a lot of fans or not......... my driver fits me........... and that is all that matters

for instance my driver is aggressive, so am i, my driver has anger issues, so do i while driving that is, my driver gives to charity, so do i, my driver struggles with his weight, so do i, we have the same slogans love me or hate me, he fits my every personal need i have and that is why he is my driver...... period.........!

  16. I try not to get too stuck on just one driver, because then you get "closed minded" Kind of like a horse with blinders on. Be more compassionate to all the drivers putting on the show, and it makes it a whole lot more fun.

  17. I personally choose drivers for their personality on and off the track, along with talent. Looks just happen to follow in line with my two faves (Kasey Kahne and Dale Jr!) Some people say I only cheer for Dale because of his last name which is completely untrue. I chose Dale Jr after Dale Sr. died, but I chose him because he reminded me of his daddy a lot. I think personality on and off the track is huge. If a driver is disrespectul on the track towards others, I think they have no purpose being out there. If they aren't down to earth people who will spend their personal time with fans, I could care less about their driving ability. I'd cheer for Kyle Busch if he was more respectful. I think he has a huge ego but I have noticed him not exploding lately when he wrecks which is impressive. I agree with the guy who said its a gut feeling, it truly is.

  18. Mostly just a "gut" feeling, and partly personality, attitude and potential.

    Go Jr.>>>>

  19. Skill, personality.

  20. Looks:  No.  There are only two drivers out there who I like to look at outside of the car and watch in the car.

Personality:  Yes.  I love a driver that has a voice and an opinion and what it takes to use them both.

Talent and ability to drive the wheels off a car:    First and foremost. Absolutely.  And I have to watch that person closely for a few seasons just to see before I can officially call him one of my favorites.

  21. I look at Underdogs.

That's why I chose Paul Menard, Martin Truex Jr, Brian Simo

I like the guys that aren't always in the spotlight. Who doesn't win often. And when they win it feels great. I like drivers that drive smart not stupid.

  22. Talent and ability to drive the wheels off a car.

  23. #1 he has to be able to do good in races or it's boring to watch

#2 he has to have a good attitude

    #3 he has to win

  24. For me, 50/50 personality and talent and ability to drive the wheels off a car.

  25. Well personally for me, i watched nascar all through the 90s but didn't really have a favorite driver. At the end of 1999, I heard that Matt Kenseth was going to drive for roush in 2000 in cup, so as much as i love fords, i just went with him, starting at the daytona 500 in 2000.  He hadn't won a race or anything.  So i guess none of the above because i hadn't really heard of him really until i read the nascar book that came out in early 2000.  I heard that he might do good. I am still a die hard fan of kenseth and always will be.
