  1. It is just too fun there is almost endless possibilities when snowboarding for example a couple weeks ago i went snowboarding in the thickest fog you could only see 1 ski lift in front of you and you couldnt see the bottom even when your 10ft over. The snow wasnt groomed for about 2 days and ppl were stopping and making jumps everywhere i was hitting those jumps without even seeing them and i was also cutting through the woods it got me so pumped and i think i will never quit snowboarding

  2. there is a certain adrenaline rush that u get from snowboarding!!!

    i cant explain it.

  3. There are endless challenges with snowboarding. Once you are past the beginner stage, there is the challenge to go faster and make your turns better.  Then you can start jumping, rails, and half-pipe.  Then there is riding powder.  There is so much you can do!  I love the speed and the style.  I love the way my board feels under my feet when I am steering tight turns.  I love the exhilaration of jumping.   There is so much about it... you have to experience it to know!

  4. I agree iav8_eh.  Once you get past the beginner stage and start going for speed and control, fast precise turns are so much fun.  The harder you turn and the faster, toe turns make you lean towards the ground.  There really aren't many other things that allow you to go so fast and have the front of your body so close to the "ground".

Any experienced rider will tell you although falling hurts, it's part motivation to try again.  Stomping that trick that you've been messing up is an amazing feeling.  You may say, "only one more run" and you manage to stick the trick.  All of a sudden, that one run turns into five.  Also, snowboarding has always kind of been the different thing to do on the mountain.  Skiing has mainly dominated the slopes for the past decades.  Snowboarding's been the counter-culture.  But now all these noobs that think they're hot c**p with their +$1000 setups who can't ride 50 feet without falling are making us look bad.

Standing sideways also makes it more fun.  Being humans, standing sideways isn't very normal for us, so it adds into that extra bit of excitement.

Jumping (I would assume the same for skis) is fun too.  It's like flying.

Too bad the seasons almost over here on the East Coast.

  5. I like that we are using a natural element from god and using it for a good reason. its fun as h**l, just love the feeling of floating down the mountain, and flying thru the sky so high....and for my favorite reason, its a good way to escape from reality and all its bullshitt.

  6. the stoked feeling of landing a new trick the thrill of bombing hills.  the challenge of moguls on a steep bowl (much harder for boarders than skiers), the floating feeling of riding through powder.  Its all great.  It gives a great feeling of self accomplishment that only sports can certain sports can offer (thats a personal thing though).  What makes it better than other things that are fun are that you are constantly progressing, and the feeling you get from that is amzing.

  7. You have to experience it to love it. I've been snowboarding for 11 years and since then i have learned many different things that you can do. It never gets boring. There is always new things learn. It's more than just going down the mountain and coming back up on the lift. For me snowboaring is my escape from reality. I like to go down the mount not wanting to stop and come back to reality.  You feel so free to do what you want to do. You can choose how you ride, how fast you can go and best of all have fun with your fellow snowboarding buddies to whom you can show off your tricks and compete agaisnt each other. If you don't have snowboarding buddies it's not a problem you can go up to the guys or gals and just talk and ask for advise and i'm sure they will be more than happy to help you out. That's how I met my BF up on the mount. ;) Everyone has a different story why they love the sport. Once you try it I'm sure you're gonna want to go out and buy urself a board.

  8. im still at the end of the begginer stage and ironicaly even though i get very sore and bruised up after it just gives me a feeling of bieng free just to ride the slopes ,and when i try to pop/olie/jump it feels great to be in the air, i dont even know if i can explain fully the feeling!!!!!!!!!!!!!
