It's so difficult to get the 'truth' from the media these days. What's your thought on what is going on?

  1. So far, it SOUNDS like Georgia made the first move into South Ossetia, and Russia having interests there, moved in as a response.

Anyway, sounds like a regional affair.  If the US should/could do anything, it should be strictly diplomacy.  I don't think we should risk anything more than that.

  2. According to the News Media, it has now turned into a conflict between Russia-United States

  3. Gosh guys, when will you understand, Ossetia is not a part of Georgia - legally. There has been an agreement signed by Georgia, Russia and South Ossetia in 1992. Which makes SO a country just as Georgia and Russia. They have a parliament, they mind their own business, just not recognized. Say like Northern Cyprus.

All this media info is pure speculation. Russia cannot be brought to court for this military action.

  4. The russians wont stop until they annex all of Georgia.

  5. Well Georgia attacked areas in its own country they deem terrorist, but to Russia it is made up of its citizens (not really but on an ethnic type level).

However I think the area has a oil pipe line in it and is supposed to have lots of resources so of course both sides want it. Not to mention Russia considers the area its sphere of influence like we did with SA and Europe did with Africa.

Either way if Russia decides to take it no one is going to stop them. Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD).

  6. Lot's of finger pointing, and a trigger happy country.
