  1. I'm not good at hugging my family (parents, grandparents, aunties, etc) but hug my husband and kids all the time. We say 'I love you' all the time too. Well, except the teenage daughter, she just pulls her face.

  2. not in my house. if its said that often its meaningless. i love my son and my daughter. they know i do from the way i care for them . they are grown up. they dont need to hear me say it in the same way i dont need to hear them say it. we know. and thats real enough for me.

  3. I don´t know which parallel universe these saps in the survey were from but Mr. JOMAMO would faint clean away if he heard me say those words more than once a decade.

We´ve been married ten years now, might have to WD40 me lips to get the words out again.

  4. Sometimes wine makes me say I love you to everyone.

A household member????? Nah, cant think of anyone in my house I would want to say it to right now

I'm more of the  'TURN IT DOWN AND GO TO BED!' type.

Phenomena is one of those words i just cant pronounce, much like 'statistics' and Steve McManaman

  5. I tell my daughter I love her every day, but from a partner I prefer to hear the whisper 'kiss me'..

  6. So I must be the other 20% because I very seldom say those words.

  7. I can honestly say I never heard it ever said in my family. I do remember my younger sister once asking mum if she loved her and I was struck dumb for the rest of the day. Still haven't forgotten it and that was about 40 years ago. I don't think anyone ever said it to my dad and he lived to 85. I still find it hard unless it's to kids, but it's got to be good for kids to be told it.

  8. Yep but is it really "current modern"? Watch a few oldie movies from 40s and 50s and seems zats wot they sed then too.

  9. I tell my boys I love them all the time, not that they understand!! I tell the male once a day, or when we say goodbye on the phone. I'd hate the last thing we ever said to each other to be anything else...I admit it, I'm a total sap lol :)

  10. Actions speak louder than words and make precious memories.. I think it's nice to say it occasionally though, as its a bit like a smile and lights up the day.. I don't say it often but when I do I mean it...:)

  11. I tell my little boy I love him everyday

It's sweet coz he's just started talking so he says it back to me

First time he said it i cried! (then again I cried that day too coz I'd run out of Muller Rices, it must have been womans troubles)

As for my boyfriend we don't really say it that often

We're just not like that at all

  12. It expresses how uncertain life is, and you never know if or when you will see this person again.

  13. Wow, 80% is a little over-the-top! I think that phrase gets overused and just turns into an everyday ritual which ends up meaningless.

  14. My husband doesn't say it.

He says its too cliched & the word is too small to cover the feeling.

    He says i should know...

    i think hes right.

  15. geez only 80% thats low for me, i'm gutted :)

  16. Why do you have to say it to people who know it anyway?  I hate it.  I hear people saying it a lot on their mobiles.  They chat, then say 'Love you' and ring off.  What is their compulsion to say it?  Do people need that much reassurance these days?  More than they did 10 years ago? The other thing that I loathe is in restaurants when the waiter or the waitress bring you the food you've ordered, they put it in front of you, and then say 'Enjoy!'  What else do they expect you to do?  And as for 'Have a nice day ...'  Ugh!

  17. That is nicer than the previous question where it was 34% argue,  have to say I have never heard anyone say that at all in all my years. These 80% must be 99% liars
