What do you mean by "wiggles" in ice skating?

some of the people that answered my other question said that you have to do wiggles in grade 1. what is a wiggle?

  3. its basically that slalom movement you see some skiers doing. i dont really know how to explain it, but its important to keep your knees bent and straighten a little when changing directions.

    on two feet its basically this. imagine each line is followed by both skates and is unbroken. ignore the full stops :P

  4. When we do wiggles in skating lessons, they're usually backwards.  All it really is is shaking your bum and twisting your upper body/arms with your feet about a shoulder width apart so that it pulls you backwards.  Sometimes I tell people to "hula" so they get the idea a little better.  :)

  5. I think they're talking about what is usually called skiing its basically "wiggling" from side to side while skating. Its used to build speed and get used to switching edges

  6. It is simply wiggling your body back and fourth to get momentum so that you can move.
