  1. In 1945 I could buy an ice cream cone for a nickel. We were outraged when post war inflation caused the price to rise to seven cents!

  2. MY YOUTH. THE GUY WHO SAID YOUTH IS WASTED ON THE YOUNG HAD IT RIGHT.sorry about the caps.

  3. Great rock music especially of the 90s. I mean the big popular acts of the day, like Nirvana (RIP Kurt..we miss you), Oasis, Metallica, have all become "uncool" and in many cases unheard of, in the face of pop acts and hip hop acts like Britney Spears. I remember asking my best mate (he's 15 and a real gansta try hard) about Smells like teen spirit. He'd never heard of it...sad...thats what I miss most though.

  4. Nothing. I hate the modern world. The 20th century had great advancements and technological wonders, but overall, the loss of morality, decency, manners and kindness is the lasting memory of the 1900's. I don't expect people to be perfect, just more like the good old days when there was much more good in the world and people actually cared about each other and the world they live in. Older people can talk about how great the 1940's or 1960's or whatever decade the grew up in was, but the truth is, each decade has become worse than the previous one, leaving us where we are now.

In conclusion, good riddance to the 20th century and every century to come until it all crashes down and we are no more.

  5. the old records and the jukeboxes that played in cafes in the 1940s

  6. The optimistic 80's - we were all going to have levitating skateboards, only kids played computer games.

Grunge.  I still cannot believe there are 18 year olds walking around now who were born when this happened.

I don't miss the cold war.  That was a scary time to grow up.

  7. People back then were smarter and knew that politicians were liars, now people want to be lied to and cheer wildly when it happens.  Give me the 20th century over this one any day

  8. my parents who were both alive then. The fact that we didn't have to lock our doors at all because we knew no one would break in.That

people respected authority and if you did something wrong you got

punished not a movie or book contract. There was decent movies and

music. I miss a lot of things.

  9. The Ed Sullivan Show

  10. Being under 40.....*sniff*

  11. Popular music that was based on talent and ingenuity.

  12. What I miss most about the 20th Century is walking the street or standing in queue without being surrounded by brazen cellphone yakkers.

  13. The political climate before 9/11.

  14. the macarena

    nobody knows it anymore
