You need a class and a certification.

You don't need a degree to be an EMT. You need to take courses in anatomy & physiology, standard or advanced first aid and CPR.

Then you need to complete an EMT1-A course, which usually include a ride-along program with a local ambulance or fire dept. as well as a stint in a hospital emergency room. This is meant to give you some practical experience. Being an EMT also takes a person with an actual desire to be of service to their fellow man.

I commend you if this is what you choose to do in life, because the rewards you get can't be seen, but they will be with you for a lifetime!!
