  1. The most important thing you will need is your child's shot record. You may want to bring the birth certificate and social security card as well. There aren't many more documents that a child has, so that should cover your needs. Assuming you have a family of two, (you and your child) $14,000 federal, $17,500 Alaska, and 16,100 for hawaii.

If your family is bigger here is a link to the 100% federal poverty level (which is what head start uses): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty_in_...

  2. Eligibility for Head Start services is largely income-based (100% of the federal poverty level), though each locally-operated program includes other eligibility criteria such as disabilities and services to other family members. As of late 2006, up to 10% of any funded program's enrollment can be from over-income families.

The 2007 and 2008 federal poverty level for the 48 contiguous states is $10,400 or below.

    Hawaii .... $11,960 or below

    Alaska .... $13, 000

Check with your local office .. you may qualify on other basis if you don not meet the poverty level ...

    Its a great program ...
