I understand that one must buy a gun and some ammunition but how do you obtain a license? Also after you have your license how do you know if there aren’t other people hunting where you are and where do you get tags so you won’t be arrested?

  1. search the fireams registry website and the sporting shooters association. where do you live? there might be a rifle or clay target club or range close by if you go there they may be able to help. but usually you need a letter from the farmer where you will be shooting to get your licence and then you can pretty much go and hunt in non protected areas. and farms etc.

if u like guns and wanna try something different try your nearest clay target club it so fun!

  2. It's good that you have a gun and ammunition, that definitely is the first step.  The second step is to take a hunter's safety course.  They are offered by your local DNR or equivalent.  You are required to take that class before getting a small game or big game license.  Then you can buy your license, and it's different for everything you want to hunt.  If you want to hunt squirrel then get a small game license.  Deer are a big game licence.  Then you have to find land to hunt on.  Usually I hunted on land that my grandfather either owned or knew a guy who owned.  Don't start shooting on some guy's land and ***** about being almost shot.  Then you have to either gut the animal or find someone to do it, then find a butcher who will make it into usable meat. Good luck.

  3. All your answers are in your hunting safety course or test!*

  4. Knowing what state or province you live in would help a great deal in getting a more specific answer, but here's the generic version.

Every state in the US, province in Canada, and many other countries in the world require a person to take a "Hunter Education" or "Hunter Safety" course before buying a hunting license. As the name implies, this course will teach you the basics of hunting--safety, animal identification, equipment, game and resource management, basic tactics and advice. These courses are usually free or nominally priced.

Additionally, what you do not learn in the Hunter Education course you should investigate on your own or, even better, under the guidance of an experienced hunter. Local hunting or shooting clubs may have a mentor program of some kind, or you may just hang out a little at the local outdoors store.

  5. A license

  6. many stores, especially sporting goods stores, but it can be any store that asks for it, sell hunting licenses.  You go up, ask for what you want, and they sell it too you.

you have no way of knowing if other people are on the land you are hunting, that is why you need to constantly be careful, keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on your target, BE POSITIVE OF YOUR TARGET BEFORE SHOOTING, know what is behind your target in case you miss, always even when just walking, make sure your gun is pointed in a safe direction (straight up, straight down)

your local courthouse will have a little booklet on hunting rules and regulations.  It is likely you will need to take a hunter safety class before you can buy a hunting license.

  7. Yes of course a gun or bow including ammunition will be helpful. But every state has different requirement for hunting lisence. So go to your states wildlife and fishery's website and find out about cost and such for getting your hunting lisence. And if you own your own property you can hunt on it, no problem. You can't just drive out to the country and go hunting anywhere. You will need to join a hunting club, which has thier own properties for hunting. And once you join a hunting club you pay a fee and set up your deer stand, tree stand, blind whatever depending on what your hunting for and feeding sites by your said stand or blind. Hunting is a costly yet very enjoyable sport. Good luck.

  8. Of all the types of hunting there is, deer hunting is one of the most popular. Deer are, for the most part, an abundant source throughout the United States. Because their behavior can vary depending on certain factors such as weather, time of day or even mating season, they are often considered to be quite an appropriate challenge for hunters. A hunter has to know how each factor working alone, together or in a combination will affect the hunt. With deer hunting, one can opt for the use of a rifle or bow and arrow. As long as one is adhering to rules and regulations of the season, hunting can occur on either private or public hunting grounds.

Deer are known to be nocturnal animals. Because they travel to and from feeding areas moments before sunrise and sunset, hunters are often given thirty minutes before dawn and after dusk to hunt. As with other animals, the moon will also have an affect of the movement of deer. When deer hunting, the seasoned hunter knows that a successful hunt often relies on planning accordingly. It is necessary to know not only what time the sun will rise and set but the moon cycles and how it will affect the day´s activities. Those who tend to go deer hunting when it is only convenient for them often end up frustrated at their lack of results.

Even those who do not hunt know that deer are super sensitive animals and their innate sense of danger can have them moving at the tip of a hat. Aside from the need for food, the sound of wind, rain and even falling snow will put deer on the move. Despite camouflage and a number of other tricks, deer still tend to easily catch the scent of nearby hunters during hunting season. When deer hunting, the use of deer stands, a type of platform securely set in a tree, is often a first choice for hunters. This puts hunters up and over an area giving them a good view of the surrounding location they are hunting.

Many take to deer hunting during the fall mating season. It is during this time that deer behavior is most erratic and incautious. As many have found, this month long period is not only extremely active, it is not uncommon to see bucks and does out in the very middle of the day. During other times of the year, the middle of the day is a rest period for deer that have been out foraging all night long. The chance for a successful hunt increases during this time and it is not uncommon for hunters to take advantage of it.

  9. Ask at the shop where you buy the gun and ammo. They should have game regulations, license, and tags. Also wear bright orange, there will be others in the hunting area. Join a hunt club if you want a more private hunt, or go to the real wilderness in Ak.
