What do you need to do to prepare a new wakeboard for use?

i have just bought a brand new obrien wake board and need to know whether or not i need to wax it,etc.

  1. No Wax!! Seriously... nothing just be familiar with how to get in/out of your bindings and that they are properly mounted to your board.

Wakeboards do not require wax.  Adjust the stance of the binding to suit your build.  Make sure all screws are tight.  You are good to go.  Get out there and tear it up.  Based on your question, I'd say you might want to pick up at least disc 2 of 'The Book' DVD Wakeboarding Instructional series, Basic Foundation, to ensure you get all the basics down and don't develop any bad habits that might prohibit progression in the future.  These are sold separately, but also come in the 5 DVD set (best value) and contains everything you ever wanted to know about wakeboarding from equipment to every trick in the book.  Good luck.

  3. When I bought my wakeboard, all I did was try loosen the bindings. You don't need to wax the board (I don't).
