  1. Call 1 800 CC rider. They will let you know where you can sign up for a local class. The class will test for the driving portion of the motorcycle M1 endorsement and will provide the helmet and motorcycle.  I believe if you're under 21 the state pays for most of the fee.  If not all of it. Also, you do not need a class C to get a Class M1

  2. If you already have a class C license you apply for a motorcycle learners permit and take the written test. If you pass you get the permit which allows you do drive a motorcycle only during daylight hours. Can't carry passengers or drive on the freeway either.

In order to get the M1 endorsement you have to take a state approved safety and driving course and pass. Once you graduate you take your certificate of completion to your local DMV and are issued a new license.

EDIT: If you don't have a driver's license you apply for the permit, take the written tests then have to drive on the permit for at least 6 months under it's restrictions. After the 6 months pass you then take the CHP approved safety and training classes. After successfully passing them you then apply for your M1 license which of course only allows you to drive a motorcycle.

ask home town police or CHP for location -then dont bite much
