  1. e-mail with what track you are playing and i will pick the entire card for you....bwj1963@yahoo.com

  2. Hi Get your local paper on the the days racing, take a specific race ,then look for information on what dict ens the race is.now look at each horse tr ac record that run that distance and what was the results then. Then next look at the horse weight ,lighter horses tend to do better. Then look at the jokey is he known for wins or awe rage, look at the bookies what the odds are on a horse,If a horse start from 10/1 and close on 2/1 be fore the off take a bet.

  3. get your racing sheets when u get there.  u can usually tell which horses are good by the odds placed on them.  Then look at the jockeys (wish i knew whAT TRACk you were going to.  Say like Robby Albarado is a good rider here in Louisville, and he usually has some good horses, but you really can't count on that.  Check to see which horses are scratched (will not be running)  and look at the odds on each horse.  Ex:20-1 would really be bad odds but would pay a lot on a win because of the odds.  just use your head--people around u will help u usually cause they all like to see the track lose their money.  I know they have a place, show, and a win and a think that might be called a tri-fecta, but i am not so sure.  feel free to send me an instant msg. if u r going to churchill downs in louisville or u can call me at 502-689-2099 on my cell phone.  ,y roomie is real good, but i don't believe in betting.  Oh, my name is Kathy travis and it's on my Yahoo 360.  GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  4. If you've never bet on horse racing before, there is too much information available to give a tutorial here.  I agree with the first poster in looking at the odds in the program.  These give you a general view of what the track handicapper thinks of the horses.  Just remember the favorite only wins about 1/3 of the time.  Too have fun you can bet names, numbers, jockey silks colors, best looking horse on the track.  I've seen all of those ways win.  For fun, if you have a bunch of people going, get a $1 from everyone and bet on the favorite to show.  If that wins, take the winnings and do the same on the next race, etc., etc.  If you're lucky enough to hit a few races in a row, the whole group gets to be excited for awhile.

By the way.  On the comment about people taking the track's money.  The track takes anywhere from 17 to 30 percent of the bets before the race even starts.  You're actually taking the money bet by the other patrons who bet on losing horses for that race.  The only time the track loses money is on a heavy favorite 1-9 or greater odds where the payout is $2.10 because the payout should have been less than $2.10 but the that's the minimun the track is allowed to pay.
