  1. The first step is contacting the FCC, they will inform you step by step what is needed to get a license to operate a radio station. FCC stands for the Federal Communication Commission. Go to www.fcc.gov

  2. first you need your very own website

you can make a online radio station which will cost you about $25.00 a month with www.provisio.com and purchase you domain name from http://www.nelohost.com to get started

  3. You need a radio transmitter, a microphone, a CD player, a mixer (to combine the mike and player signals), and a supply of music CD's to play.  Oh, yes, you also need a state or federal license to broadcast.  It would help if you also have a news feed (an outside source of news) and a license to use it.  An second microphone would allow you to have a guest for interviews or discussion, so your mixer would need to be able to combine the signals from the two microphones and CD player.  A second CD player would allow you to make seamless segues from one CD to another, so your mixer should be capable of handling two mikes and two players.
