What do you need to prepare for a hurricane?

This year, I'm buying a rain cover for my camcorder because this is my first year storm chasing. I'll also need a computer and software to track hurricanes. And of course, a phone to call the National Weather Service if I see a funnel cloud or anything good like that. I really like severe weather.

Probably plywood to cover windows and doors.  Canned food and clothing along with can opener .  Enough for a couple of days.  Bottled water.  Blankets.  A safety plan and to know where local safety shelter is.  If you have a baby baby supplies.  Medicines.  Important documents that would otherwise be blown away.
