  1. You can find a teaching job overseas with as little as fluency in English and a bachelors degree... but these jobs are truly "bottom of the barrel" and could end up scamming you.

If you want a better employment "package" while living overseas you need to have a teaching degree and current certificate from an accredited university backed by a US state government.  Most international schools require two years experience as a teacher in the US before they will consider you - but some make exceptions.

You can have a teaching certificate in any subject you may find in any US elementary, middle or high school.  Subjects with the highest demand include special education, maths, hard sciences.

Your minor will be established with the help of a counselor and may even be something required by your university to support your major

If you're teaching English (without an ESL certificate) you likely have very few of the following but as a true international school other things come standard: round-trip airfare, health insurance, settling in allowance, housing, school-to-home transportation, language classes and more depending on the school.

If you're qualified here are the best places to apply:

University of Northern Iowa Department of Overseas Placement.

    Search Associates

    International School Services

You can google them for their requirements and contact info.  Each of them hold fairs wherein administrators come from around the world to interview teachers from around the nation as well as those that returned to the US from their post overseas looking for a new contract.

    Good luck!

  2. Teaching degree

If your American you find it hard to get work in Italy or any other EU country. Why? one they rather take on other EU citizens because you have no paper work or visa problems Since most T.E.F.L teacher are either British or Irish working in states schools in Italy or in the private sector
