What do you need to visit Canada for the weekend?

I have never been out of the U.S

  1. It depends on where you going and or coming from but its basicly no different from the u.s


  2. If you are flying you need your passport.

    If you are driving you don't need a passport yet - you need a government issued photo ID such as a driver's license and your birth certificate to prove citizenship.  

    If you are a minor there are different requirements, and you would need your birth certificate for identification and written permission from both parents if they are not both travelling with you and you would need to be in the company of an adult and your parents should both be abailable by phone when you are crossing the border in case the officials decide to call them to make sure everything is ok.  The letter from your parents would need to include the name of the person you are with, where you are going in Canada, and when you will return, as well as their contact information.

    Be prepared to answer questions about where you are going, the purpose of your visit, where you will stay, etc.
