What do you need when traveling to Canada by a Greyhound?

I plan on taking a Greyhound Bus to Niagra Falls from New York..

Will I need to bring a Passport..? Will they ask me for Identification? What is the best way to go?

Entering Canada on a bus is no different from entering in a car, and you will be asked for identification - actually they may ask you to see it when you are boarding the bus as well as at the border as sometimes the bus comapny wants to make sure they won't have problems with you when they arrive at the border.

    Ideally you will have a passport. If not, then you need both your birth certificate and photo ID, a driver's license is recommended as the photo ID.


  2. You will need picture I.D. like your driver's license and your birth certificate but if you have a passport, then by all means use it. I do not understand the question about what is the best way to go - you have already said you were going by Greyhound and they pick the route.

    If your trip is a short one - have fun and bring your camera. If it's a long one - eat your Wheaties and do your Yoga - Travelling long distance by American Greyhound ranks way down there among the worst experiences of my life.
