  1. Hi, my dear....

All you need is a valid passport!!!

The costs I only know in EURO...but I assume approx. 100-150$$ due to the new "security-devices" i.e. biometric measures, fingerprints, etc.- since ...9/11 they got quite strict on security...

Also recommended is an: "all-weather-jacket"...(in case it rains)... Another "insider-tip" is to go to a . "PENSION" (which is like a "bed&breakfast-place", which is much cheaper than a hotel!!! ) - other than that ... just your "regular" attire !

If you have more datailed need of information, you can contact me at: a.granderson@yahoo.de

Wish you a good flight & a pleasant stay!!

Greetings from TRIER - Germany....- Annette-***

  3. If you are US Citizen you need just the passport. Where you get it, in your town at the government office. This will be not so expensive.

You need credit card and ATM Card. Euro is so high so prepare yourself with that. Flight ticket and if you are coming in summer to Germany summer clothes, if you are coming in winter very very warm winter clothes. You need also Hotel. The best way you contact some travel office in your town.

    Germany is great country.

  4. It depends on if you want to have your passport right away, or rushed (expidited)- I got mine expidited, and it was about $200. You'll have to mail your birth certificate and social security card along with the paper you'll get at the post office that you'll fill out.

What every you really need, you can buy over there, if you want. The money is in euro's over there. But bring the standards, socks, underwear, clothes that you can wear in layers, for different kinds of weather. Hygene stuff, camera, extra batteries, a diary or notebook to make a record of your time. If you want. It's all up to you.

    Have fun!

  5. I go there twice a year from Texas to Germany. Here are the things that always made it easy on me. First obviously get a passport. They are only $58 bucks unless you need it in a hurry then it can cost up to $225.

Second buy your train ticket online at www.bahn.de , this will save you time at the airport trying to figure out where to get your ticket at especailly if you don't speak german.

Bring just a little cash with you in Euros. No need to change over a large amount, because the rates will kill you. Use your check card or credit card and its the cheapest way to go. Your bank will do the conversion for you.

Most Germans speak English and don't mind helping you if you atleast try and speak German. We are guests in their country .. we all know how we feel about mexicans here just walking up and throwing out spanish 100 miles an hour.

      You will love Germany!!

    Anything else??

You can go to pubs and bars and drink beer and wine (until 10 p.m.) when you are 16; if you are 18, everything goes.

Learn a few German phrases, and you'll be loved.

    have a safe trip!

  8. If you are US American citizen a passport is all you need for a visit of up to 90 days.

Otherwise let us know your nationality there are countries a visa is required.
