I work full time and my children will be going to kindergarten and into 1st grade in September. In addition, we just started Kung Fu classes for the kids. I'm having a hard time managing quality meals for all of us during the week. What suggestions can you give me for simple yet nutritious meals to make quickly or to make ahead of time?

  1. I use www.dinewithoutwhine.com.  It's $6.95 a month and they have really good recipes.  It saves a lot of time with trying to create a weekly menu.  Actually, each week they send you a week's worth of recipes and grocery lists.

  2. the crock pot is your new best friend

just look online for recipes, you can cook chicken, pork, beef, soup, pastas, veggies, i mean everything in a crock pot, i actually have a larger one for the main things meat and such and a smaller one for veggies and such it is so easy to throw stuff in in the morning and you come home to a prepared meal

  3. I know exactly what you mean, I have two boys who play youth football and we are at practice a minimum of 3 nights a week plus my husband and I work full time.

My answer to your question is get a crock pot it is the best thing ever. I prepare the night before put it in the fridge then take it out before I leave for work in the morning set it for the appropriate amount of time and it is ready to go. There are a ton of things you can make in the crock pot not just stews or roasts. I have made lasagna, chicken dishes. You can go on line and google crock pot recipes or get the Fix It and Forget It cookbook.

  4. When everyone is busy at my house I just make the dinner the day before and keep in in the fridge. Then when I get home just throw it in the oven.

  5. Well, sandwiches such as peanut butter and jelly, turkey and cheese.   How about macarooni and cheese, chicken nuggests and some cut up vegetables such as carrots, celery, broccoli, cucumber, etc.  Fruits could be apples, banana, oranges, grapes, etc.
