What do you prefer? A 4 or 5 day work week?

I prefer 5 days. I live just 3 miles from my work and if I had to do a 4 day week that would mean an extra 2 hours of child care each day. My child care provider and my children don't want to do that. My town suffers from a childcare shortage, housing shortage and an employee shortage. All because of a huge increase in oil exploration in my area.

  1. I personally like my wife's 3 day work week. She does 12 hrs a day Friday, Sat, and Sunday as an admitting clerk at the ER. She gets decent pay, great benefits, and is free to travel with me four days a week. I am retired.

  2. none i do not want to work I just want to sit down and take it easy

  3. I have done both and prefer 5 days. Staying at work for 10 hours a day bites.

  4. Definitely four days.  But, I don't have any kids either.

  5. I think I would prefer 4-days.  I currently work a 7-on/7-off schedule.  I would prefer to work longer hours and get more days off.  However, I don't have kids to worry about.

  6. 4 days cause it gives me an extra day to run errands and i would take much less time off from work if i have a weekday off cause i am already taking at least 1 sick day a week for my doctor appointments anyway. much more economical for my company

and the oil doesnt affect me 1 bit. my grocery prices actually went down from a year ago and i dont ever have the need to use a car or even own a car. never saw the point of it
