What do you prefer : Puerto Rico or Dom. Republic and why?

Both Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic are great places but I prefer Dominican Republic better because well, first  of all I am Dominican and second of all I just think it is better! :-) I just have a better time when i go to DR!

I've been to both, and I found that the people of the Dominican Republic are MUCH more genuine, when it comes to welcoming others.  In DR, there is more of a home-y feel to it.  Personally, I think the majority of people I came across in PR were fake, and lost in this nonsensical air of arrogance that they had.  DR is more beautiful, and much more enjoyable.  In all aspects of the word.

I have been to both and they are very enjoyable in different ways. Puerto Rico is wonderful for touring, night life and culture. The beaches are nice, the locals friendly but we enjoy the total beach destination so my choice would be Punta Cana Dominican Republic for the total resort, beach and water experience. We hang out at the resort, swim, snorkel and just relax. We get up early, eat a nice breakfast,take long walks on the beach, people watch,take naps, get a massage, enjoy cocktails with lunch and dinner, watch a show and retire early.

Depending on what you want out of a vacation is how I would choose my destination.
