Heinz jar baby food or making your own puree at home?

Im planning on making my own at home but like the other reply said what ever my baby liked best.

I tried all kinds of food with my son and all he will eat now is heinz tinned baby food, he will occaisionally eat from a jar but not if theres an alternative. He also likes the youhurt pot style rice pudding and custard pots.

Id say buy a couple of each and see what your baby will eat, if they dont like it they wont take it. I found home made food can sometimes be a little too strong to start out with but try what you feel more comfortable with

I prefer making my own.  I can then see exactly what goes into it - plus it's heaps cheaper!

My little man doesn't really like the jar food anyway, so that worked out for me! LOL

I always made my own. That way when you can start giving more lumpier foods you can just mash up the foods that your making for the family.

Obviously people are going to say the own puree thing is better, just like people always say breast feeding is better than formula. Making your own puree at home is great - you know whats going in it and you just make big batches and freeze them but the Heinz stuff is good too. Especially if you dont get time to make it. I used to alternate so that my kids could taste both, that way if we were out and we had to have the jarred food, they wouldnt fuss. I also could not breastfeed so had no alternative but to bottle feed and I have 3 extremely healthy children. Do what works for you - dont stress about people telling you 'what is right'.

With all the additive preservatives and other poisons in today's foods, I'd be as organic as possible.. grow my own food and use a blender.
