What do you prefer watching: the fifa world cup or the olympics?

and offer reasons why? my vote goes to the olympics because you see a range of different sports and unlike the football world cup- where nations have to go through the qualifying stages to compete in the event, every athlete from every country participate in the olympic events

The Olympics. It's far more varied and we can follow a truly national team - Great Britain- rather than the parochial ones of the so called countries of the UK. Anyway, I find football incredibly boring in the main and a sport that is followed by thugs and xenophobes. I enjoyed Euro 2008 this year mainly because England wasn't playing and we were spared the sight of English thugs chanting racict slogans.

The olympics in reality is pathetic can you imagine leagues for say diving pulling in thousands of people every week. Football is a game for skilled professionals and why it is the worlds game. Football pulls in crowds every week the olympics only works because it is every four years if it was on more than once a year nobody would care about it and the fake national racism it promotes
