What do you prefer when fertilizing common plants,Ammonium nitrate or calcium nitrate?

I don't fertilize plants at all because of the environmental impact on the declining health of our oceans from contaminated run-off ground water.  However, if I did use fertilizers, I would probably use calcium nitrate because it sounds less toxic.  Thanks for the question.  I will look up these chemicals.

Edit:  yes, as I thought, Calcium Nitrate is much less toxic and apparently, safer - lol.
