One side being 90 degrees of course. It's been a long time since I've done this and it seems like a remember something inlike inverse tangent over opposite. Truthfully, I just plain forgot it's been so long and I'm not near my trig book. I was wondering if someone could help out.

  1. SohCahToa

    Sin = Opposite / Hypotenuse

    Cos = Adjacent / Hypotenuse

    Tan = Opposite / Adjacent

    I'm assuming the angle you have is the difference between two objects, and the base distance is the distance between the objects.  So the distance to them would be found from tan (theta) = base/distance, so distance = base / tan(theta).
