  1. Just about anything you can think of except meat if you are a veggie. Tofu is bland and has the remarkable ability or quality to absorb the flavor of whatever it is mixed with or marinated in. It even comes in different textures, firmness and packaging to suit your particular needs.

  2. i eat cold tofu at my house sometimes and it tastes great with some soy sauce paste and some fresh chopped green onions over it.

  3. I like to freeze my tofu (it gives it a much "meatier" texture), then let it thaw out.  After that, put it between a couple of tea towels, and put a weight (I use my cast iron skillet) on top, to squeeze out the excess water.  After that, I just bake it, with some barbecue sauce.  I'm not a vegetarian anymore, but I still love that meal!

Also good when you want something simpler is to just use soy sauce (or tamari), onion powder, nutritional yeast, and olive oil as a marinade, then broil the tofu (which should have been cut into 1 inch cubes before the marinating process), GENTLY using a spatula to turn the tofu in the cooking process so it doesn't burn.  Make sure you don't use too much marinade and you cook it until it is golden brown....Otherwise, it gets soggy and gross!

  4. One of my cookbooks said to cut it in squares or strips, bread it w/ bread crumbs and seasoning, and fry it.  Dip it in your favorite sauce.  They suggested sweet and sour, terriyaki, or barbecue.

  5. How about this, you add some frozen strawberries( or other fruit), sugar to the silken tofu and blend it till creamy.  Drizzle with chocolate cream and sprinkle some rainbow rice or nuts on it.  You can opt to freeze a while to make it more like ice cream.

Steam the tofu for 8 mins. Drizzle olive oil, light soy sauce, sprinkle some spring onion and cut chilli (optional).

Oh, i have lots of tofu recipes at my blog, check it out if you like http://www.crystalbyblog.blogspot.com/

  6. What ever you want it to taste like. I'd suggest getting a good vegetarian cookbook and experimenting. It's not the easiest stuff in the world to work with, but when you get it right it's wonderful.

  7. I use extra firm, wrap in paper towels to soak up the excess water (I don't like to freeze it). Cut in slices, fry in a little olive oil, hot pepper sesame oil and soy sauce. Sprinkle with ginger, garlic, curry, turmeric, whatever you have in the cupboard. Top with sesame seeds. You can also top it with sliced veggie cheese and serve on toasted sourdough with mustard.

  8. Fry it up..and add cayenne pepper, curry and onion or garlic salt..it is amazing!
