  4. aluminum cans

  5. Paper

    Plastic types: 1, 2 & 6

    Aluminum Cans

    Copper

    corrugated cardboard

    chipboard

  6. air, water, everything. it is all big cycle.

  7. paper, glass, cans, plastic

  8. Everything that can be reused-

    Glass

    Plastic

    Paper

    Cardboard

    Aluminum

    Cans

  9. cans and bottles.... stuff I can get my deposit back for.

  10. printer cartridges

  11. I recycle what most people do, but now I've gotten more into just not buying this stuff in the first place! I know have canvas bags that I use for groceries and instead of buying plastic bottles of water, I bought a single bottle that I fill up with filtered water every morning.

As of this year, there will be no plastic bottles or bags coming from my house and into landfills. :-)

  12. Much less stuff than we used to because we just don't buy it in the first place now.

    We recycle:

    Glass

    Cans

    Old spectacles

The children's broken mobile phones (we donate)

Unwanted books and games (we donate)

Thin cardboard after it has been used many times

Old car oil (when oil change) at local recycling center

Children's deodorant cans (they won't use natural deodorants)

Plastics: Children's shampoo and conditioner bottles.

    Old unwanted tools are donated.

Buttons, zips, fasteners (take off old clothes)

We recycle directly onto ground (next year's veg beds)

    herbal tea leaves

    fruit stones

    fruit cores

thick cardboard (use as a mulch)

    Vegetable peelings, eggshells

Clothes (they are made of natural materials)

Old broken baskets and waste bins (made of natural materials such as hemp)

Old school bags after being fixed many times.

    letters, envelopes

    Composted in compost bin:

Worn out leather or canvas shoes.

    Biodegradable sanitary products.

Washing up water (use natural detergents)

    Fluff from vacuum cleaner.

    Ash from fires.

    Waste paper

    Receipts

    We bin, for landfill:

Worn out non natural material shoes.

    Plastic food wrappings.

    Empty toothpaste tubes.

Broken margarine tubs after been used many times (won't recycle them in our area)

    Broken pens.

    Occasional mascara and lipstick container.

We, including the children, buy very little 'stuff' they tend to buy 'downloads' of music and games. Books we all  tend to keep. Don't buy papers or magazines. Music discs are infrequently bought and they pass onto friends when they have finished with them.

It feels great to put out your waste bin with only a few inches of rubbish in it each week. Each year there is less and less waste, not because we recycle more, but because we buy less in the first place.

  13. well i don't recycle lol but i know my cousins do and they recycle paper, metals, cans, bottles, plastics

  14. I recycle bottles, cans, and plastic containers at the high school i want at. I also recycle plastic bags at Albertson's and also I recycle paper and cardboard at an Lutheran Church. I don't recycle at home but at only those places.

  16. I recycle just about everything.

    Glass

    Paper

    Plastic

    Clothing

    Metal

    Food

    etc.

I try to let nothing go to waste.  If I have something i no longer need, and it is still good, I usually donate it, that way it doesn't end up in a landfill somewhere.

Recycling allows us to reuse products, which in turn lessens the impact we create on our planet.

Let me start off by saying we (my family and I) live completely, 100% “off of the grid and are completely self sufficient”

The house is built 100% from recyclable material. Ie pallets, reclaimed lumber old railroad ties and telephone poles, cardboard boxes for insulation paint from freecycle.org everything. Our cabinets are thrown away shipping containers, my coffee table is made from a front door, pictures, appliances, we even get our ketchup from unused condiments. Woodburning stoves, solar chimney, solar AC, solar heating, solar water heating (pool and home), solar stove, solar power, wind power, hydrogen powered back up generator, hydrogen back up water heater, hydrogen stove, 2 hydrogen powered trucks, 1 EV (electric vehicle) and satellite internet.

We also built many green small cabins on the ranch that we offer to family, friends and our on-site off-grid workshop guests, including one straw bale, one papercrete, earth bag and adobe, one cob and cordwood, one underground and rammed earth, one log and post and beam and one rock. Each one actually started as a test for what the main house would be and were later finished and turned into guest cabins. I later wrote a guide on how to build with alternative materials using alternative methods for next to nothing.
