Saying "I missed you too" would be a lie, not saying something back is rude.

Would you respond by saying "I missed you too" or "you too" even if you don't mean it ? if not, what would you say ?

  1. As enthusiastically as the situation allows, I say "oh I know, I've thought of you so often". It's the truth with out being mean or saying exactly that you've missed them.

  2. I always say "Yes, it's been a while". Saves me from being a liar.

  3. Yes answer "me too". It is polite even if not true.

  4. you say, "Thank you."

    ...and smile.

  5. I'd say "Really? Why do you miss me? It seems like we just had a talk yesterday!!"

And then "Aww.. Thanks!! Well me too"

And yeah I think that even if it is a lie to him/ her, he/ she wouldn't know that so why not tell a lie. And I think it's better to tell a lie more than be rude to that person, right?

  6. i've taken many ettiquette classes

i think in that case you would say! " thanks " thats sweet of you!

=) by your sweet answer i dont think he would feel hurt!

    good luck!

  7. lie. lying is part of ettiquette too

  8. I just say, "Oh, that's so nice." I actually went through that at a funeral recently. I saw several people that I honestly hadn't thought about in years and when they said it to me, I just said, "that's so nice, thank you."

  9. While it may be polite to say you missed them as well, no need to lie.  Just say "aww thank you!", and then abruptly change the subject to something like "how have you been lately?"

Now if they asked did you miss them too, then tell them you have thought of them, or was wondering how they were doing.
