You’re Welcome

Smokey clouds

Ashen crowds

Blank faces covered with life

Drifting here

Lifting clear

Linger away from the strife

Vacant thought

Freely bought

Slowly I put down the knife

To believe

That I belong

Pegged in a square world

Breaching normality with favour

Silencing the sounds of reluctance

Handshakes with hope and dreams

Certain I may be wrong

But at this moment

I belong

  1. "Blank faces covered with life" is perfect poetic expression. I have been attempting to teach the poets to respond to the poem, not the question. It is beginning to sink in.

The feelings expressed in this poem are illustrated sparsely and cleanly without hitting the reader on the head with prior anguish. The last two words, a poetic trochee, expressing optimism, give impact to the longer lines of the poem.

  2. This is a zinger!  Last stanza is really strong.  As is the rhyme and meter of the first three.  Well done.

  3. I have some vacant thoughts you could freely buy, no cost attached.

A very nice piece of work !

  4. Keep the change.

  5. Yes I agree with the title in response to the question.

The poem is..... a poem (as per instruction from Elaine) I am glad you belong.

  6. Glad you feel that way.  This room of poets has expandable walls, anyone who sticks around will feel the benefit of friendship and the encouragement received will help you grow - I know, it happened to me.

I should change the word 'Certain' for 'Perhaps' then wait and see.
