What do you say when your grandchild says he wants to come back home to his natural family

He's only 3 but he says he wants to come home to be with his father and sister. The couple can never adopt him. When my son had to turn him back over he the child cryed and then said By dad I love you. How do you explain to a child he has to stay there. And why didn't he bond with them he was there since birth. And what kind of people would do this to a child known that he will never be truly theirs?

Obviously there is a reason for him to not be with his father. Just tell him that you all love him and enjoy visiting with him but for how he gets to live with his foster parents, who are kind people who also love him.

Even if they tried to 'give him back', it would have to go through the court, and if it wasn't approved, he would go to another foster home. If you have a problem with their choice, you can try to appeal it in court and try to get custody yourself.

Just keep telling him that you love him.  And pray that when your grandchild can speak for himself that the courts will take him away from these self-centered people.  I would be heart-broken if I had to leave my grandchildren with people like them.

I do not understand how these wanna-be parents can do this to a child.  This is baby stealing at its worst.  I cannot fathom why the legal system can continue to perpetuate these crimes against children and their natural families.

I know about your son and his story, and they took his child illegally. I am so sorry for that. Isn't this awful.

I know what I'd like to say to "them" they're horrible people, kidnappers, should be locked up, but you can't say that to him.

I totally sympathize with you.  It just makes me so angry that this kind of thing can happen.

Those people are so cruel.  It is obvious that they love themselves way more than they love your grandchild.  They must not know what love really is. (1 Cor. 13:1-7)

At the age of three I don't think that your grandson can quite understand the reasons that he can't be with his dad right now but you must make sure that you reassure him that you want him home and that you will do everything that you can in order to make that happen.

I think that it is obvious by a couple of the posts on here that there are some who haven't a clue about genetic attachment.   The bond that is there between a father and son cannot be put into a child's head.  It is not something that can be faked or imagined.   It is something that is real and strong.  That is what your grandson feels for your son that he doesn't feel for the people who have him.  

I know that you will find the strength to continue in your struggle to get your grandson back ...I hope that it helps you to know that there are a lot of people pulling for you.

I am so sorry your family and grandson have been put through this. This is exactly why a father's rights need to be taken more seriously! Like the others said, keep telling him you love him and continue to make sure his emotional needs are being met (something tells me his abductors aren't going to be very concerned with his feelings).

I would simply tell him that daddy is trying really hard to make that happen.

Obviously these people are baby stealers, so they don't have a conscience.  I don't get how they can even sleep at night.

I don't get why the courts continue to let them drag this out knowing the child is going to be seriously affected by what those people are doing.   If only they could put the best interest of the child above their own and let the child live his life with his father as nature dictates.

Some people that get desperate for a child are more in love with love and mislabel it as loving the child. They need therapy.   I hope your grandson is home sooner than later.
