  1. I was thinking bout turning that way but idk, just tell em its none of they bizz I guess.

  2. umm i dont do anything. i would just perceive the person as being really emotional.

  3. Just say "when rude or nosey people ask me about it, I start cutting myself....do you have a razer blade?"

  4. hi long time,

my therapist told me to say the same thing but it always leads to more questions or me feeling bad. So I just make up excuses like I don't know, or that a cat scratched me, or it happened by accident while cooking, Some times I get really creative wit my stories and no one asks any more questions.

I only tell them the truth if they are really close to me and don't fear being judged which is like almost never.

  5. I don't have that problem since I never cut in an area visible to most people. The only times anyone can see my cuts/scars are when I take off my clothing and when that happens I'm close enough to the person to admit, yes, I cut.

In your case, I don't think there is any shame in telling people that you used to cut. You're better now and there's no reason to hide that. You should be proud of that. Everyone has issues, you used to deal with yours that way, you don't anymore. It's a good thing. And the people who treat you differently after you tell them are not worth your time.

  6. I'm so sorry to hear that you were doing that, sweetie. It's hard to say because I don't know where your scars are or what they look like. Tell them either to MYOB or that you were in a car accident or something and got deep cuts.

  7. Dog scratches. I have lots of scars from that.

  8. I have the same problems.  I work with little kids in a cheerleading program so they always ask "what happened to your arms."  To people who can understand, I tell them the truth:  I had a self-mutilation problem when I was younger, and to the younger kids I tell them that I had been very sad and scratched my arms up, and I tel them that I wish I didn't do it because it hurt.    I try to make sure that they understand it is a bad thing to do.. I am their role model, so they listen.

  9. It depends on who is asking. If it's someone you are close to and feel comfortable being honest with...then I would just be honest.

If it's like a stranger or something, it might be better to avoid the topic or something.

It really just depends on you, but it's not something you should feel ashamed about.

  10. I always say I fell in a thorn bush. I had a friend who constantly self- harming and was really open about it. People wouldn't leave her alone! Especially her best friend! I think its best just to lie and put some bio oil on the scars to make them fade.

  11. Well I still do cut so I cover my wrists with lots of hair ties and thick bracelets. I mostly cut on my stomach though, So for changing I wear I tank top under and don't go swimming and if I do I wear a swim suite that covers my belly and my thighs.
