ive been chatting with my frind about it.my son says p***s & 'gina.my friends have told their kids its a willy, sausage etc or mary, fairy etc. ive always told my son the proper names because we know someone called mary, and part of our looking after the environment is 'helping the faeries' by picking up rubbish. surely there'll be mass confusion?? waddaya think??

  1. Our son's is his "manhood"--yea...thank my grandmother for that one!!!

    Our girl's are their "too-toots".

  2. I'm a girl, and I never heard the word "v****a" before I was ten--it didn't occur to me that the female "private parts" (as I was always told to call them) needed a specific name. I knew the word "p***s", however, because I have a brother, and little boys tend to be much more aware of their genitals than girls do of theirs.

In the end, they're still "privates" to me.

  3. My boys know the name of their genitals. They know that they have penises but call them pee pees instead. They haven't asked about girls yet, seeing as it's just me in the house without one.

  4. no kids yet but when we do we will be teaching them the proper names for their body parts. why beat round the bush about it?

  5. my girls know the actual names of the genitals. but they still use the word i always say and its their privates.

  6. Just tell him what they are.

  7. I told my son it's his p***s. Which he used just fine until my mother told him it is his thinger. Now he calls it his thingy and I still call it his p***s. I refuse to use food names because kids don't understand the difference between the food and the private part.

  8. Tell it like it is right from the get go  ...a p***s, and a v****a. They'll learn to beat around the bush with everything else as well if you don't tell them the truth

  9. We've always used proper names, but my daughter (9yo) still just says "privates".

  10. I say "Bits " thats what my son calls it now he says "my bits" lol

  11. ive always known them as private parts til age 11.

  12. My mum used to call it a foo foo valve- that makes me laugh now! but i still knew the real name so it didnt confuse when i was little.

  13. private parts

  14. Both of my children know the actual names for their private parts, but both call them "pee pee".  My niece calls hers her "hoo hoo" and boys in her house have a "pee pee".  I don't think that there's anything wrong with childish names, but I do think they should know the real name as well.

  15. My boys know all the proper terms....always have.  Teaching them anything else is silly.

  16. In my home girls have tu-tus and chi-chis (b***s) and boys have pee pees.  I read on here that some one said to call it by the correct name I think that is c**p.  I do not think I could handle my 7 year old running around saying v****a and p***s!!!  They don't have long to be kids in todays society, why make them grow up any quicker!!!

  17. My son knows the proper name for it but also knows 'willy'. He does use both. For girls he sais 'giant' instead of v****a (that's just his mistake in pronunciation). Of course it did happen that he announced in front of friends that daddy has a p***s and mammy has a 'giant'... very embarassing indeed...

  18. My son doesn't know the existance of a v****a, I've chosen to keep that to myself a while longer. But he can call his privates, junk, and pipi. Well for a girl it's business, lol.

  19. he can call it his "balls". thats what i called em.

for a chic's,um, let him learn the proper lingo in his school.

  20. My three daughters, ages 10, 7 and 4 all have vaginas.  Their male cousins have penises.  This is what they have been taught to call their genitals, just as they call their arms, arms, hands, hands and toes, toes.

  21. my girl calls hers her private and wheres my calls his willy and when he hurts his balls he says nuts they learn the poper names for them in school but come up with there own names for them.....

  22. I attend a group called ngala here in australia they help with childhood issues etc and one of the leaders there brought up this topic and said that parents should use the correct names for body parts for two reasons 1} it normalises it and makes it just like any other part of the body i,e, arm leg face

2} they learn that this a private part and only certain ppl are allowed to touch it when they are having there bottom wiped (if you still need to do this) or when they are getting dried after having a bath so that god forbid they should get abused they know to tell someone that so and so touched my p***s or my v****a and who ever they tell knows exactly what they are talking about.

  23. From the time they were little my kids were told it was a v****a and a p***s.  What is the point of giving genitals names other than what they are?  We teach them the proper names for other body parts so the genitals should be called what they are and not a willy or fairy, etc.  That is just plain silly.

  24. we was always taught pee pee, no matter whether you are a boy or a girl.  that's what I tell my son now.

  25. We use proper terminology.

Making up cutesy nicknames causes embarassment and shame in relation to those parts of the body.  Why would we want to do that to a child?  It leads to a child not being able to convey to the parents, or an adult not being able to convey to a doctor, any issues associated with those parts.

Not only that, but children who know the proper terminology are less likely to be sexually abused, and if they are sexually abused the case is more likely to be prosecuted if they know the proper terminology (it is easier to prove that something wrong occured if a child says John or Jane Doe touched my p***s/v****a than it is if a child mentions tutus and puppy dogs).

Confusion, embarassment and shame for sure-all over something that we all have (one or the other).  It is senseless.  My children know p***s and s*****m/testicles as well as v***a and v****a.

  26. My children have always called them p***s and v****a.  They are body parts, just like your nose or finger.  It does sound a little funny when they are so little. :D  They are 8 and 2.

  27. My parents were always honest with me and used the proper terms, even if I couldn't quite say them right.  They also bought me a proper, age appropriate book on s*x and answered my questions, even embarassing ones

  28. My kids refer to the front as a "weenis" and the back as a "bum". It's a general term for both boys and girls. I don't know where weenis came from, but "bum" is the popular term in my area (Utah) for bottom, behind, buttocks, etc.

  29. That's always a possibility ...

  30. For boys I say their "Man goods" and for girls I say "cooter"

  31. my son is 6 he calls it boy pee pee and girl pee pee. lol
