  1. Yes, Marie Antoinette should deserve a second chance. She did not deserve to be executed just because she didn't know how to deal with her finances. She was a princess and was brought up with all riches and luxuries in the world. She couldn't help to deny herself to continue such extravagant expenses. Although it did ruin her reputation for throwing parties, new gowns and jewelry and building new palaces while the rest of France starved, but her silly immature actions certainly did not justify the right to execute her. The French government should have just restricted her spending allowance.

A queen who deserves to be executed is an individual like Mary I of England who prosecuted and burned almost 300 protestant followers during her 5 years of reign, which earned her the name “Bloody Mary.”

  2. I dont know about giving her a second chance but i really enjoy reading and learning about her. Besdes the fact that she was the Queen at some point she is the only one i can acctually say "wow, shes a real human being like the rest of us". She made mistakes just like everyone does and alot of people like to judge her but they dont really pay attention to the things that made her the way she was. How would you react if your own husband doesnt sleep with you at all during the first months of your marriage? I guess i can say I admire her but i dont think she deserved a second chance.

  3. No I don't think she deserved a second chance.  She was a product of her time and status.

  4. I thin she is dead.

  5. There are so many stories, theories, and perspectives on how she really was as a person and queen that it's hard to decide which to believe. I'm prone to thinking that she was misunderstood and was the unfortunate scapegoat for a society that was out of control and needed a foreigner to blame.

  6. She was typical of the arrogant and privileged royal class of her day. When advised the peasants had no bread, her famous...or legendary response was, Let them eat cake. How cold and cruel....
