... IT IS TIME FOR GT. BRITAIN TO SPEAK UP ...

This is an letter written by an British citizen, published in a National newspaper He did quite a job; didn't he? Read on, please!

... IMMIGRANTS, NOT BRITS MUST ADAPT ...

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on the 7th of the 7th we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Brits.

However, the disgust about the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Britain . Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants. (The Danes, Romans etc.)

However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.

This idea of the Brits being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity.

As Britain 's we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH, not Indian, Urdu, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language

Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!

"Land of Hope & Glory" is our motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.

If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.

If the 'Union Jack' flag offends you, or you don't like our QUEEN, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.

We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from.

This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our Laws give every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so!

But, once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our lifestyle our government, or our way of life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great BRITISH freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

It is Time for Gt. Britain to Speak up

  1. Well done mate its about time us pure 100% brits took a stand, the bloody foreign people come over here have about 5 kids each no wonder the NHS, school, and housing is in such a mess, they pinch jobs off us especially our young people just leaving school and well what about all the crimes and knife attacks, I ask you all how many are coloured? 9 out of 10 And who cares a **** about there culture! best think for us if they all p**s off back to where they came from. Yes I am a racist because they are in your face all the time. And I bet one of them reports me cause thats what they do whine whine whine !!! this country belongs to US BRITS !!

  2. It is basically correct and expresses what most uk born people probably feel.!  Given today's generation though and what appears like even worse yet to come that will inherit this old island, I seriously doubt that patriotism or national pride, etc will survive in any form much longer. It's too late.! The flood doors have been opened and the foreign hordes have poured in upon us, we are doomed to our fate as a third world society and I have alwyas felt myself to be an optimist. However the nightmarish reality surrounds all of us and as a result, I like many others rarely venture outside my little house.!

  3. I'm Irish so a total foreigner to the brits as i live in my own country but i do understand your angst.  Heres my take on things, no group has the right to target civilians the PIRA did it and they are scum for  targeting civilians  regardless of warnings or not.  The Brits should have expelled all Irish back to Ireland from Britain a long time ago, we aint your buds and never will be.  You stay on your side of the water we'll stay on ours.  Now for the 7/7 bombers, ****** scum every one of them, you do not attack civilians you do not place bombs in a place where nobody has an escape, you do not harbour terrorists all Muslims in Britain are guilty by association.  I see a lot of condemnation by Brit Muslims but not a lot of arrests.  Let them just try it in the north of Ireland we'll show you a jihad! we'll slaughter every one of them, no man left standing.  Seeing how we have "peace" in the north where we pretend to get along we are always on the lookout for scapegoats.  Send us your Muslims  what takes 20 BNP members 10 years to do we can do it in one night, otherwise get on with life and stop worrying.

  4. I don't see your name on it.

By chance, you were born in a cetain land. Get over all this patriotic b/s becuase the owrld is NOT yours.. You do not own it. You have not bought it. You did not create it.

There for this country is NOT yours, mine or anybody elses for that matter.

You just by chance was born here. Just like by chance, others were born in another country.

You shouldn't have pride in where you weree born. When you were born, you didn't actually care.

To me, my home is where I settle. The world is not mine, so I cannot claim a country as my own.

Thanks for the thumbs down. I guess for people just went and wrote their names on British soil.

Its really pathetic. NOBODY OWNS EARTH!! Gosh, how hard is that to fathom!!

  5. I am white, have lived in England all my life and am of 100% British descent (if such a thing exists). But I feel no patriotism for the Queen and do not particularly believe in God. And this is not because the society in which I live has been diluted beyond recognition, it is because as a citizen of this great nation, I am proud that I have the freedom to believe what I want to believe, to think what I want to think and to feel what I want to feel.

By suggesting that every person residing in Britain, be it immigrant or non-immigrant, should support and participate in every aspect of traditional 'British' culture, you are suggesting that we stifle the freedom of thought, speech and action that has allowed us to blossom into a modern nation that on the whole respects the human rights of its inhabitants.

Moreover, the argument put forward regarding the English language is entirely hypocritical. In huge numbers of tourist areas of European countries in particular, English is largely spoken - yes, that is an example of foreign countries adapting their culture to suit OUR needs. From personal experience I know that some English holidaymakers become frustrated, offended and even offensive if their linguistic needs are not catered for abroad. In fact I read recently about an instance near a Spanish resort where a Spanish speaking citizen could not understand her apartment building meetings as they were held in English due to the number of ex-pats living there. This is not right, but we must recognise that it is human nature to attempt to find a sense of community through people of the same nationality when moving abroad - we do it ourselves.

Yes, integration must take place to avoid terrible atrocities like the 7th July attacks. But to chastise immigrants for not sharing the perceived sense of culture that many British people themselves do not share, or for not immediately learning our language is both irrational and hypocritical. Furthermore, it is exactly this kind of isolating attitude that could cause immigrants to feel the kind of hate or fear for our country that could manifest itself as violence.

We can't have it both ways. We either accept that globalisation is happening, and that not just Britain but countries all over the world are reaping its rewards and, yes, dealing with the difficulties it brings; or we do not accept immigration, but accept that we too must remain in our own country, or adopt a completely foreign language and culture if we move abroad, effectively becoming a different person - for this is what you are asking immigrants to do.

My favourite thing about this nation is not the Queen, or Christianity as a national religion, or the Union Jack. It is our freedom, our multiculturalism, and our tolerance. Just as you may be offended by me denying the former, I am greatly offended by your denial of the latter.

  6. I never used to feel the way i do and i agree with every word of the article, some would even consider me racist even though i hate violence and wish we could all live in peace.

    Charmed:

Immigrants like yourself are welcomed its the others that you speak of that make many people who normally would have said live and let live, now speak up and are against.

  7. At last someone who is not afraid to say what us true Brits are thinking, we have had enough! we must do something, look at the crime rate now ? many people in my area will not go out after dark, children are losing funding to the foreign children, I know young couples who can not get a house, We must do something about this !!

  8. I'm full British and i agree with you all the way, yes, we speak BRITISH in OUR country, all the foreigners need to get a life and GET THE h**l OUT!!

  9. I agree with the majority of that, except the God bit. I am a patriotic Briton, but am atheist. Is this person suggesting I leave?

We must move on, and we must adapt and evolve, and immigration allows us to take good points of other cultures, and mix it in with ours. However, I do agree that people who come to this country need to respect our laws and culture, as we would respect theirs if we visited them. I happily wear a headscarf and remove my shoes when visiting temples in India or somewhere, despite not believing in any god, because that is the custom there, and the culture and tradition. I expect people coming here from other countries to do the same.

Our government needs to stop pandering to the minorities, and remember that being proud of being British is not racist, and that if we teach kids that it is, is it any surprise that they grow up hating us?

  10. Land of hope and glory

    Mother of the free.

I'm not offended by the Flag of the Union (except that the Welsh flag was not incorporated).

I've been an ex-pat for more than half my life, so maybe I see things differently.

We profited, plundered and exploited more than half the world.

'Our laws give every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so'

Whoever wrote that letter hasn't thought his argument through.

Freedom of speech, equal opportunity, no racial, sexist, ageist, disability discrimination.

Yes, I have gone into areas of British towns, where I have received aggressive looks from the women because my head was not covered, and yes, it made me ask myself, whose country is this? But surely we can live together in peace. All this type of antagonism only makes matters worse. It prepares the ground for disadvantaged and underprivileged young people to turn to those members of their religion who themselves present a warped interpretation. We should be talking, not fighting. Conciliation and understanding rather than discrimination and condemnation.

Statements like the above make my toes curl. Ostensibly the UK fought WWII because of extreme nationalism, and where are we now? We have a Socialist Government which is decidedly right of centre and the rise of the British Nationalist (n**i) Party. So all those who died in WWII, died in vain.

Jamie, that should be 'We British', not 'Us British' - so you wouldn't get permission to stay in the UK if you were an immigrant.

  11. I'm Cymro(Welsh) and an atheist, the union flag and royal family mean nothing to me.As for Christianity, compared to how long Paganism was the main 'religion' of this Brythonic country,it is nothing!

  12. Thank you! Someone who will actully stand up and not be afraid to say what they feel! I am pretty racist and I don't care really!

I don't mind immigration as long as they can speak our language and don't complain about British culture. Us British people will not adapt to other foreign cultures just because you feel offended. Don't like it, go back home! Sorry, it's just the way I feel.

  13. I guess I'm every bit as British as you are, by your terms of reference.

Also I have a sense of "Britishness", and my sense of that is ingrained, enough for me to say that  your question, is in fact, the antithesis of Britishness.

Little Britishness maybe, but not Great Britishness.

You are perceiving many more enemies than you actually have, an insidious and ugly little feeling to live with.

  14. The letter says much with which I agree.  I'm not opposed to immigration but I am tired of being told I'm some kind of racist just because I happen to be a Native Briton.  I have never uttered a single racist word in my life.  I am a Methodist and a Socialist.

    POWER TO THE PEOPLE

  15. There is not, and never has been, a race of 'British' (unless you want to got back to pre-roman times)

There is not, and never has been a 'British' culture.

Go to Scotland, Wales, Northern Island and see how different the society, language and cultures are. This island has always been a culturally and ethnically diverse place. Trying to hoist some outdated concept of 'British empire' on it that was a fiction when it was born 300 years ago doesn't help. Be proud of your own culture, your own flag, your own history and traditions, but don't expect everyone else to feel the same way about it as you!

  16. right that they should when i go on holiday i go to another country, i try and learn a bit of the language before i go, so i can be polite, i abide by the countrys laws while im there so what give people the right to claim assylum over here or emigrate in and try to change the laws of this land, if they dont like whats here then sod off, i hope the pm read that letter and starts thinking,

lets make great britain great again

  17. If this letter needed signatures - I'd defo put mine to it...... The UK has been bending so far backwards, it's almost broken in half.

  18. i agree with you. i for one am fed up with all this Political correctness ****. you come to our country you obide by our rules and not try and change them. if your not happy then leave, its as simple as that.

  19. what an excellent letter. he definitely speaks for me.

  20. The letter truly reflects my opinion in every detail ;but Who was it  who answers here that we have no right to complain because all parts of the world including the UK is open country for anyone to come here to take and live as they like ? That is a recipe for Might is Right and we too must do the same and Take over and start colonising where ever we choose to. Take note Israelis . You now have converts who will support your occupation of those places you may feel able to occupy.

  21. i never used to be racist. i am now though. all these politically correct idiots have got me like this. and i don't believe for one moment i am the only one who feels like that in the UK.

  22. I live and work in UK,I am not English,I am Italian and I understand why British people feel the way they do about immigrants.

Unfortunately I have myself being object of discrimination not from British people, but by immigrants that live in this country.I have discovered that some immigrants living in this country are nasty, rude, dirty, ignorant, they have rude and disrespectful children and to name more stuff I would need to write a book.

But some of us immigrants are decent people,we work hard,we have learnt the language,we respect your culture and like it too.

Great letter by the way,I didn't know about it.
