  1. EAT PIES,and get fat like all other retired AFL players

  2. I think he'll do stuff around channel 9 for a while... eventually I think he will come back to some form of coaching job.

  3. I think I read somewhere that he said that he has only played football, so that's what he will stick to when the game is over.

Personally, I don't think that his wife would want him dagging around at home all day getting underfoot, and grizzling about how he wished he was still playing.

Nathan needs to get away from Collingwood and Eddie Maguire if he wants to expand his way of thinking, and be his own man.

There are plenty of other clubs out there who would give him a go, if he is patient and can get out of his comfort zone with the magpies.

  4. i think he may do media stuff and coach in a few years time

  5. He will be able to spend more time with Eddie. He wont do any good in the media. He couldn't even handle being a guest player on that boring Footy Show.

He and Trevor Marmalade would be a good pair. While on that subject, can anyone tell me what that Marmalade is on the show for? He is not funny (maybe in the head) by any stretch of the imagination.

  6. Nathan Buckley was an elite footballer and I believe in time he will become an ELITE coach .    I think in '08 he will spend his time in the media, doing special commentary like Micheal Voss, and will study footy strategies etc away from club involvement.   What bothers me tho is that most of the successful coach's have all evolved from having been 'defenders', and the the list is endless,Jeans Hafey, Parkin ,Sheedy, Pagan, Malthouse , Roos and Worsfold .

  7. I think it'll be media, part-time assistant somewhere (best for him and the Pies if it's NOT at Collingwood) and end up coaching Collingwood once Malthouse and Chocko Williams after him have finished there.

  8. What I'd love is for him to start as a skills coach at the Cats!  The only thing he probably couldn't teach is ruckwork - other than that the most complete player there was in the skills dept.

What he'll probably do is spend a fair bit of time on the footy show, become assistant at Collingwood and go on to coach a senior team somewhere.  As someone said, he's a footballer thru and thru, so fair dinkum Bruce McAlvaney style commentary is probably not his thing!  Can you imagine Nathan and Bruce on together ... "oh that's 'special'" ... "geez you're a fairy Bruce"!! :-)

  9. Maybe a break for a year, but he'll still be involved around Collingwood in some capacity. My guess ........ he will be coaching in some form come the 2009 season. It wont be long before he's coaching at the highest level.

  10. He'll probably become a regular on one of those footy talk shows, or he might even go totally against the football grain and try his hand at a spot on "The Great Outdoors" or something.

  11. Whatever he does, I am sure he will do well.

He will be missed by a lot of AFL fans.

  12. he'll probably have a break next year but he will come back to football in the end with some coaching job

  13. he will become a huge p**n star

  14. He may think about being a coach for collingwood after Nick Malthouse retires

  15. Spend more time looking at himself in the mirror!

  16. MEDIA, FOOTY SHOW
