What do you think Colossions 2:8-10 means?

I was just pondering these scriptures and wondered what you think about it.

Col 2: 8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of maen, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

9: For in Him all the fullness of the Diety dwells in bodily form.

10: and in Him you have been made complete, and hHe is head over all rule and authority.

Just more religious nonsense. A mythical figure for which there is absolutely no credible, tangible, or verifiable evidence does not have authority over anything or anyone.

I believe that it means that you should not be caught up in tradition and religious legalism,  but rather use Christ's example of how He lived His life on earth to live your life.

Col 2:8- Paul writes against any philosophy of lilfe based only on human ideas and experiences. Paul himself was a gifted philosopher, so he is not condeming philosophy. He is condeming teaching that credits humanity, not Christ, with being the answer to life's problems. That approach becomes a false religion.

Col 2:9- Again Paul assers Christ's deity. "In Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body" means tht all of God was in Christ's human body.

Col 2:10- Look around you. People are searching for something to give their lives a boost. Few people seem content within themselves. When you know Christ, you don't need to seek God by means of other religions, cults, or unbiblical philosophies as the Colossians were doing. Christ alone holds the answers to the true meaning of lilfe because he IS life.

I'm not 100% sure but it seems like Paul is addressing the Church in Cornith due to the fact people are coming up with different philosophies other than the philosophy of Christ.
