  1. He'd probably say that it sounds like something James Earl Ray would have said.


  2. Completely against it and horrified by it.  

    Otherwise, why would he categorically reject violence, if violence might "solve" problems?  Also, that philosophy is completely incompatible with Christianity.

    It's called "consequentialism". Wikipedia has a good entry on it (and criticisms of it) if you don't have the time to wade through 80 college philosophy texts.

    Check out the King Center. It has some resources on his writings and speeches, and although he may not name it, he rails against that mindset time and time again.
