  1. If you do not take this new job, then you will become miserable and always wonder 'what if'.

People leave all the time. Just make sure that this job is a rosy as it sounds.

Don't worry about your old boss, your life and your future is more important than what your old boss thinks.

    Go for it.

  2. I guess what you have to ask yourself is "Is another person's opinion of me worth an extra 15k a year?"

    No?

Take the new job.  If you like your current job you could always contact your employer directly, inform them of the situation, and give them the opportunity to raise your pay to match that of the new job offer in order to keep you.  You may be pleasantly surprised.

  3. The money sounds great just make sure to have all your questions answered before you hire on and get as much in writing as you can.  Like vacation, sick days, stock options, hours, overtime etc.  If you feel that bad about your old boss you can always ask if you can repay them for your training especially if it helps with your new job.  Or NOT.  They will hire someone else and life goes on.
