Hmm. . . This is tricky.  I think it is better at the attraction level.  When two people are dating and one is in more love than the other, chances are it won't work out.  A smart person and a dumb person could go together though.  (Have you ever seen Forest Gump?)  But there are different intellectual levels.  Maybe one person is intelligent when it comes to issues like politics, but dumb when it comes to common sense.  If they love each other the same, they will be able to forgive the other person's faults.  

I am looking back at my answer, and I think I completely misinterpreted the question!  Whatever, I guess it is the thoughts that counts, right?

Definitely ATTRACTION!!  You can always share your knowledge with each other later on and grow intellectually, but if you don't have the same attraction level, how will you last?  I went from Blonde to Brainiac because of my man!!!  lol

Looks fade and change and sag.  You better have a partner that has more to offer than just good looks now, how about being able to carry on an intellegent conversation with the person you love.

Attraction level isn't really something than be consistently judged. People think different things are attractive. If you ask me, this is my relationship:

I'm a 3, maybe a 4.

He's an 8, maybe a 9.

I have an unusually high IQ. He's probably about average, and has some learning disabilities.

We square each other. I feel lucky to be with him. He feels lucky to be with me. He is charming, and deals with people. I am shy, but on paper, can do anything.

Mystery 5: I have to laugh, sorry. I don't have a choice. But only because i'm totally "GAGA" over the guys of "Big Bang Theory" TV sitcom.

Since I'm a woman, I'd have to say intellectual level.

The most important s*x organ is the BRAIN, so if there's nothing connecting there, I don't see the point.

I find intelligence (and a great sense of humor) to be immensely attractive. Fortunately, the men I've met with these qualities have also been physically attractive to me.

I want the WHOLE package, not just the "fancy wrapping"!
