Drill in ANWR - yes, but drill responsibily, set the environmental requirements high, and then let the scientists, engineers, and regulatory agencies work cooperatively to meet those standards.

Then....take a portion of the profits and permanently set aside 10 or even 100 acres of land (the location could be anywhere -- do so where it is needed most) for wildlife habitat for every acre that is affected in ANWR.  

There is no reason drilling in ANWR cannot be a win-win situation benefitting all concerned parties.  The only thing stopping it is fearmongering by those that don't know anything about today's energy industry.  How much environmental damage was caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita ripping through the offsore platforms of the Gulf of Mexico?  Hardly a barrel was spilled.  If it can be done safely there, it can be done safely anywhere.  The "just say no" attitude has to go.

Hellfire, where are you coming up with this garbage?  No animals will be harmed if they set up drilling in ANWR.  I'm as big a conservationist as there is.  There is virtually NO life there.  Who's left-wing propaganda are you listening to?
