i have once read in time magazine about this. this move is managed by the company called Masdar. this company is trying to make a part of Abu Dhabi to be fully powered by alternative energy such as solar panels, wind mills, etc. their goal is too make their country to be fully powered by these energy sources in the future.

now, what do you think? what do you think will be the move of other first world countries, especially US? do you think time will come that the competition will just be based on alternative energy sources and not anymore on oil? comments?

i have found the article i have read and you may want to have a look

  1. I'm all for it. The more money Abu Dhabi has to throw at R&D of alternate energy the better. The leaders of the UAE have realised that the magic cash cow of oil will not last for ever. They are making a very important statement to the rest of the world. That statement being "we have more oil than you but we are getting ready for it to disappear. Are you?"

  2. This is a good choice and I hope they find some goold alternative energy solutions.

Better the world gets a clean energy technology then the current polluting oil tech.

Most of the gulf countries do get lots of sunlight so it should have been an obvious choice for them long back.
