I think they should have kept him at Green Bay. You know they did that to Joe Montana when they released him to the Kansas City Chiefs.

  1. Ok this is coming from a die hard Packer fan here.  I loved watching Favre play, he was so much fun to see out on the field.  I'm not going to badmouth Favre here or the Packers at all but with Favre over and over again saying he was going to retire for the past 3 years and leaving the Packers in limbo is kind of crappy on Bretts part.  Then he finally retired, yeah it was hard to see him go, then every few days he kept saying I wanna play then I don't is REALLY s**+*** on his part.  I guess it's the best thing to do for both the Packers and Brett right now.  The Packers want to move on without Favre because he originally retired and mad the desicion to make Aaron Rodgers as their starter.  So, now its over and I am sooooo sick of hearing about it.  Let Favre and the Packers move on.

  2. I think it's about time they resolved this stupid issue!!!

  3. I disagree about keeping him in Green Bay. Management did what they could.  Favre was not satisfied with anything that was done on his behalf.  It's like he's a child throwing a temper fit because he got exactly what he wanted but it just wasn't fast enough or with enough kindness or eagerness.   I'm glad Management didn't cave to his childish antics.  Green Bay has an excellent TEAM and people need to remember that.  Brett Favre didn't have much interest in or loyalty to the team.   I say good riddance.

  4. Its funny, its a situation were all parties involved lose out. The Jets will stink with or without Favre. Green Bay's Rodgers will have his growing pains, and the fans will be impatient with the whole situation.

  5. Dont compare this incident to Favre's. The 49ers knew what they were doing because Steve Young was the next great QB. While the Packers basically dumped Favre and caused a huge headache for eveyone. Also, Rodgers is no Steve Young. Im glad everything is all over; the situation seemed endless.

  6. Brett is gone and that is it--he is not the same QB as a few years ago...and won;t be again! I am amazed at how much

abuse fans will take from a player who claimed it was all about the team and fans and then treats them as his personal doormat. This all was Brett's fault and he does owe the community an apology-but guess not so A-Rod will have to out do him on the field AND he will!!

  7. It is time for the Packer organization to move forward.  Favre could not convince Coach McCarthy that he would give 100 percent to the team effort this year, and whined that his feelings were hurt and that he simply could not put his hurt feelings aside.

What else are they to do with a QB in that mindset ?  Bring him back at a cost of $12 million this year alone, and take the risk that he's not what he used to be ?

  8. They didn't want him to be a whiner if he was the backup to Rodgers.

  9. good move by both sides if GB gets a 3rd round or higher pick

  10. As a Packer fan I think it sucks. But for Brett I hope he does well in NY.

  11. i didnt know that but jets could be better than last year and GO BRONCOS take that packers

  12. great news, im so tired of hearing about him that its such a good thing that he doesn't play for the packers anymore. i just wanna see rodgers or brohm start.

  13. I say, that's great. He's the best quarterback ever but the downside is that he was on the Packers. I HATE THE PACKERS

  14. fantantisc news! now jets will go 9-7 insetead of 4-12! favre and packers were done!  the packers are committed to aaron rogers at qb! and favre was a distraction!

  15. brett favre? who never heard of him.

  16. He wont repeat what he done last season. Fact. I bet the Green Bay FO are laughing their heads off. They could eventually get a second round pick at best for a guy that will probably retire at the end of next season (I shouldn't count on that though).Great nove by Green Bay if you ask me.

  17. YEAH U ARE RIGHT BUT THEN AGAIN I THINK HE WILL BE GOOD IN NEW YORK

  18. I think it was a great move by the Jets. If he leads the Jets far into the playoffs Green Bay will never hear the end of it.

  19. What a great pickup by the Jets. You know Brett Favre seething and this year his entire motivation will be to humiliate the Packers front office. So he will be motivated to lead the Jets deep in the playoffs have a great season and he'll probably have the last laugh if Aaron Rodgers has a bad year and the Packers fans (who had the chance to win the superbowl with Brett Favre) will start pointing fingers at Ted Thompson. The GB Front Office better hope that the Jets miss the playoffs and the Packers make the playoffs otherwise someone's head is going to roll (ie get fired) because people couldn't set aside their egos for the benefit of winnning a super bowl. I would rather be malcontent and win a superbowl than deal with the anger of fans and support "our guy" Aaron Rodgers one td one interception. (There is no way the Green Bay packers are super bowl contenders).

  20. I have been a brett favre fan my whole life and a packers fan too. Brett Favre playing for another team is something i will never get use to. I have a boblehead of him, book of favre, jersey that doesn't fit me, sport illustrated him on cover. Brett will always be a packer in my mind Him going to jets will always bother me in some way. I understand the situation, i'll just try to deal with it. :(

  21. I think he could've prevented all of this by simply NOT retiring after last year's season.
