Detroit owned them. The end of the game was so close to tying it up. I live in Michigan so I am excited. I knew they would win that game. They should of just finished it on Monday. Just wondering your opinion.

  1. I am very happy i have been a detroit fan born and raised grew up in michigan right outside of detroit and its a bummer im not still there. But they played there a**'* off and deserved the cup we have always been a great team and always work hard! and i am also proud to say the detroit redwings took the cup the year my daughter was born def a great memory it will be for me!!!!!!!!

  2. Bad Officiating, disallowed goals is why this went to game 6. Datysuk had a goal and it was dissallowed by Homstrom being in the crease. Holmstrom getting a penaltiy because his stick was in between Feurys pads was a bad call. There was even goal tending interefence in some of the playoff games. Things need to change in the officiating big time. Penns are young but they will be a threat next year and would learn from the Wings. Wings showed they can be a defensive team and offensive team at the sametime. They have always done that though. Its why they outshoot their opponents.  I believe the Penns need a better coach in my opinion. I think Therien screwed up a lot of things. Ron Wilson is available.

  3. Let's see, Detroit has won 4 Stanley Cups in the last 11 years. When a team wins the cup more than 33% of the time, it's bad for the league. Makes watching golf or tennis as exciting as skydiving. In short- BORRRRRRRRRINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGG.

Hope they tank and totally miss the playoffs next season.

  4. I think there was alot of things that should have been called on both sides. And I still can't believe how close the puck was in the last 15 seconds it was right on the line...Would have went to over time.

I wasn't so sure they would win...they are both very good teams ( duh they made it to the playoffs)

  5. OMG the best game ever! WINGS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!!!!  We need some good news in Michigan! And they didn't let us down! HOCKEYTOWN!!

  6. I feel Detroit did dominate the game, just like they did on game 5.  However, as Pittsburgh proved, the score is the only thing that matters in the end.

I'm glad the series went to 6 games and I liked to see it so close.

  7. I knew Detroit was a good team, but I didn't realize they were that good.

Pittsburgh was an amazing team to watch right up until the finals, but Detroit just made them look sick.  Kudos, to Crosby and Fleury for making a series of it, but Detroit seemed to control the 90% of the game from start to finish.  The puck control, the support from the defense and forwards...I could have been in goal for Detroit and still won!!! And I'm a mediocre goalie at best.

It was an entertaining series though, I only wish we could have had another game to enjoy.  Could you imagine the atmosphere in Detroit for a game 7?

  8. Well deserved.

  9. I always think it is good for the league as a whole when an original six wins the Cup, but considering things there's a lot of people in Detriot who probably really don't care because they have grown dissatisfied with the Wings...they are now a soft, finese team and Detriot fans like rough and tumble hockey with skill thrown in between.

  10. Pens gave them a fight and they almost lost that fight...Detroit better step it up next season...the Pens are so young and already great!!

  11. I live in Michigan as well.  Just outside of Detroit as a matter of fact and I am sooooooooo excited.  I must say I was dissapointed when I stayed up half the night on Monday night just to see the Wings lose but I knew that they would win last night's game.   I am also excited too because I have a baby on the way.  Due in october and I can honestly say that the Wings won the cup the year that my baby was born.  Yay!!

  12. I prayed for pens.. but such as life.. Detroit is a hockey town, they deserved it...

  13. Series should have been over in 4.  Why Detroit let them stay in so long is beyond me.

  14. Was just a matter of time Pittsburgh has talented team but not enough experience.

  15. You really want to know what I think????? Lets just say, This feeling is too Good to put into words!

  16. Yes, YES, YES, YES,!!!

GOOD JOB RED WING AND PENGUINS FOR A GOOD FIGHT!!

EDIT: rhet thanks for your comment, about Hockeytown I really appreciate that, and I am probably sure without a doubt that the Penguins will get it in the coming years, maybe next year!

  17. Yes, Detroit should have won in 4 but Gary Bettman (commissioner of the NHL) wanted to maximize the profits and generate more excitement to the sport so he made it go 6 games...

I honestly think Bettman ordered the wings to lose game 6 but they gave him a big F.U. and won it against his orders. That is why Bettman was so pissed that he had to award the cup to the Wings in Pittsburgh.

Didn't anyone else notice how many penalties were called on Detroit during this series? Detroit is one of the least penalized teams in the league for a reason, yet Ohallihan (that pos) was calling back goals on Detroit, giving other teams 5 on 3's, etc.

Ohallihan is the most corrupt official I have seen on ice. He is Bettman's ****** boy and he called stupid penalties when there weren't any reason for it.

It will be interesting to see what happens to the Wings next year knowing that the organization refused to lose game 6, against Bettman's wishes.

  18. liked it very much

  19. The Wings deserved to win but they had a tougher time than people expected after the 1st 2 games.

  20. detroit was the favorite for good reason

  21. what a close game/ series i just cant believe that it came down to a crappy goal by zetterburg

o and one more thing osgood should have won mvp he got the redwings there and had 2 shutouts in the finals
