What do you think about GM's and Delphi's underfunded pension obligations?

Reuters reports that the New York Times reports that the U.S. Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation wants GM to pony up $1.5 billion for Delphi's underfunded pension obligations, and it's warning GM and Delphi that if it doesn't get the money soon, they'll go after their $8 billion claim against the two. What do you think of that?

It's a bill. At least Ford pays its bills, not to mention Toyota, Honda, and Nissan.
