granted his average doesn't hold up against the greats, but he is capable of turning a test match in one spell, he is a remarkable bowler

Lets not talk about the statistics because it can lie and never give you a true picture of someone's worth. Harbhajan, in my opinion, is an indispensable bowler for India. Some players like Sachin, Sehwag, and Harbhajan are such that their very presence on the field alone gives kinda assurance that we are never out of the game at any point.

i think harbajans average is ok.. he is a very good bowler and u only have to look at the recent sri lanka match where he took 11 wickets in the match.. it depends on the pitch he plays on. in australia he wont do so well because the wickets are rock hard in australia so he will not get as much turn.. but overall he is an excellent bowler. much overshadowed by his team mate anil kumble. but a very good bowler indeed!

think  he is a OVER rated bowler ,.. his average clearly suggests that ,...the  contribution is not up to the mark,.. when there's no spinner is available  in India at top level,.. they just give him the chance to play~

He has bowling average of 30.79 in test cricket and 33.51 in ODI.  While this av erage is not great, his average in test cricket is better than Daniel Vettori.
