It's easy:  What do you think about Fidel Castro?  Your question has the same answer, for almost everyone.  Chavez is Castro's Mini-Me.

If you like a tin-horn dictator, who jimmys elections, and sends gunmen out into the streets to threaten people on election day, shuts down any newspaper, radio station, or TV station that doesn't support him, fires or imprisons people if they vote against him, and steals money and property from everyone to give a bit of it to the poor to buy their support, then Chavez is your man.

He is the voice of Hispanic America in this era! He is a native son , coming full circle on the injustices commited by the puppets inpose by Washingto on our countries! He might not be one-hundred percent right , but he is getting there, he has tried the northern side of the Americas , it failed him , he is trying another route is all, Hispanic America must of nessesity bring forth its natives sons and work on the respect it so deserves! Of course this is in my corner , another Hispanic might see a different view, but from the heart Hugo Chavez is looking for justice and respect for his people, is this  not what the United States fought England for??; the very famous document , declaration of Independence clearly states such!! hugs.

I think Hugo Chavez is a tyrant.

And that whatever he gives to the poorest in his country, it is to buy their support, and mask his larger ambitions.  

Newsweek reported that Hugo Chavez supports terrorist training camps in his country, that feeds the unrest in neigboring Colombia.

Chavez also openly courts friendships with murderous dictators (such as Fidel Castro, and till he was deposed, Saddam Hussein, among others).  

No one with benign motives would do this.  

Chavez exploits the poor to gain their support, while the educated and middle class of Venezuela are fleeing to other countries, to find a better life not possible in Venezuela since Chavez took power.

Chavez operates a lot like a thug with communist inspirations.  His anti-Bush, anti-American opinions are his right, but the way he controls his country by restricting the media and opposition groups isn't democracy.
