  1. In a nutshell : Everything you would want the USA to be now Italy has been for thousands of years !

Imagine this...from city to city even a few miles away from each other their dialects change, foods and wine changes, traditional custom dresses and events change. Go figure that with America as the melting pot of the world we should have much more to offer but we don't ! You can travel for days in the USA and every town, food, etc. seems to be the same but each city in Italy is unique just waiting to have you discover their treasures of castles, narrow streets, art, food and history. I've lived there for many years and I feel that the movie "Under The Tuscan Sun" can give you just a peek of what Italian life can be. I find the USA to be a rat race although it is much more advanced and the standard of living here is higher but does that truely mean better ? Oh yes I nearly forgot free medical service for everyone...comes out of your taxes. How'd you like them apples !!! Ciao

  2. I LOVED Italy.  The Italian people are beautiful.  Not all tall dark and handsome like the media portrays them, but definitely a beautiful people.  It's the eyes.

And the FOOD is to die for.  Spaghetti Carbonara and Ca[rese Salad were two of my favorites, and you haven't had pizza till you've eaten REAL pizza at a trattoria in Naples.

The Italians are so laid back it borders on laziness.  It seems like they take a holiday every other week, and their government goes on strike all the time.

The Caribineri are a little freaky.  They're cops that walk around in red uniforms with tall boots, and they carry machine guns; but it does help keep the crime rate down.

What I really admire about the Italians is their responsibility when it comes to drinking.  There is no drinking age in Italy.  People just have a general respect for alcohol and how it affects you.  Their drunk driving accident rate is less than half of other countries with drinking ages.

The shorelines in Italy are unforgettable.  There are a lot of fascinating ancient ruins to visit, and Rome is just too amazing for words.  Then there's Pompeii, Pisa, Venice, and my favorite, the countryside in Sicily...Italy rocks.

  3. ITALIA CAMPIONE DEL MONDO .... SIAMO BELLI E BRAVI E AMIAMO PIZZA E SPAGHETTI...CANADA TI AMOOOOOOOOOOOO...GIRLS I LOVE YOU .... BY AN ITALIAN LOVER....

  4. Expensive now with the Euro,Naples is beautiful but watch out for pickpockets and purse snachers. All of Italy is eye candy.

  5. I'm 50% Italian.

L'Italia è un bel paese ed il cibo è fantastico!

  6. I love Italian people, culture, food, and the language.  People there have always seemed to me to be very friendly and they certainly know how to enjoy life.  I've been to Italy several times and each time I love it even more.  I'd move there if I had enough money and worked in a high demand field.  Sigh...maybe some day.

  7. The food is awesome, the men are gorgeous, the religion is ludicrous, the women are hairy, and the mistresses are stupid.

  8. I hate and love it at the same time. An Italo-American who lives... in Italy!!! Ciao

  9. Confusing, messy, noisy, disorganized, expensive, no fun at all, unless you drink alcohol, get drunk and forget about everything.

I don't like it ... I live in Italy, I cant get drunk everyday.

.. as tourist a would go in Tuscany, and Umbria great natural environment, the vibes there are positive.

  10. for me, italy was my favorite trip.  i went to rome, pisa, florence, venice, bari, naples, capri, pompeii, rimini.  it was just awesome.  there is so much culture and so many things to see and do (i.e. the coloseum, vatican, trevi fountain, leaning tower of pisa, take a gondola ride, etc)  the art and architecture is beautiful.  the views from the island of capri and the grotto azzurro are breathtaking.  words cannot describe.  i think i took 11 rolls of film.   i cant wait to go back!
