What do you think about MagicJack telephone?

Was reading about Magicjack (www.magicjack.com) and wondered how good it really is. Do you use it? and is it as good as a regular phone line? How does it compare to Cable phone? Or others like Vonage?

I use it and love it! but don't compare it...its in a class by itself!

I use it with other voip providers and free voip services! Make sure that you have a reliable high-speed Internet provider

There is a much better voip service provider in the US and Canada. Provided you have a broadband connection you can plug this phone in, without your computer, or if you are travelling plug it into a laptop where there is a wireless service, and you can call any type of phone (landline or cell) free. There is a small monthly charge for the service.

The company has its own voip network specially designed for using video phones as well, last week I was involved in  a video call between the UK and the USA, and we don't even have the full voip service here in Europe yet.

I've had it for about a month now.  It generally works well but I have two issues with it.  

First, you can only get a phone number from certain US cities, I live in Canada and that means I couldn't get a phone number from my city. As such friends and family can not call me locally.  

Second, you have to unplug it from your usb port if you want to reboot your pc.  It prevents the reboot from proceeding.  This is a problem for me because from time to time MS releases updates overnight that cause reboots.  The Majic Jack prevents the reboot from finishing.
